Cayuma House

From the air: the tennis court and the low ranch house behind it, palms and oaks all round and a mountain ridge beyond
The house from the foot of the terrace steps, a copper chiminea between two Adirondack chairs below the brick chimney
Great room under a cedar ceiling, a long table set beneath an antler chandelier and a fire lit in the black brick hearth
Dining end of the room, an upright piano and carved sideboard against white plaster, baskets hung above
Galley kitchen in deep green cabinetry, a run of open shelves and the door standing open to the brick terrace
Principal bedroom against a fluted green wall, a velvet bench at the foot of the bed and doors open to the pergola
Bedroom in white with a black iron bed, buffalo-check curtains and a pine console under the window
Guest bedroom with a curved timber headboard, two lamps lit and a blue floral rug underfoot
Twin room in white shiplap, checkerboard blankets across both beds and an antique chest between them
Bathroom in smooth plaster, a walk-in shower on patterned green tile and a trailing plant at the window
Hot tub set into the terrace under a vine-grown pergola, a woven pendant above and planting all round
Tennis court at the end of the day, the net in shadow and low sun across the oaks behind
The court from the baseline, a basketball hoop at one corner and the house along the far side
From the air: a low house between a pool terrace and a tennis court, palms through the oaks and a mountain ridge behind
