The Inn at Mattei’s

Guest room under open beams, a black four-poster bed on a kilim rug with a white brick fireplace alongside
The room from across the bed, the four-poster against panelled white and a cushioned window seat under the eaves
The room from the foot of the bed, a lit drinks niche in burnt orange and the fireplace beyond the bedpost
Drinks niche lined in burnt orange, an espresso machine and kettle below a shelf of glassware and bottles
A small gilt-framed landscape lit by a brass picture light, above a dark headboard and white linen
A bistro table at the window set with bread and lavender, the window seat in striped mudcloth alongside
The window corner in painted board, a worn leather armchair facing the seat beneath three sash windows
Shower in cream zellige tile, aged brass fittings and a niche of amber bottles

We set the scene.
